Slip and Trip Claims

Tripped or Fallen because something was unsafe?

Uneven pavements, poor lighting or wet floors are the usual cause of slips, trips and falls. These types of falls happen all the time and usually injuries occur from them, often due to poor maintenance by businesses, landlords and councils. The scope of injury can vary quite a lot depending on how bad the fall happened, it can range from minor cuts and sprains to bone breakages or head traumas.

Who is liable?

Sometimes these claims can be difficult to prove due to the nature of the claim and can therefore be difficult to receive compensation. However, if this has happened to you it is important to note down any information about the fall, you can figure out who is liable for a claim based on where exactly the accident happened. For example if it were to happen at a hotel or supermarket the owner of the premises is liable, if its on the street on a cracked pavement then the council would be the ones liable. If this has happened then make sure you take down any personal details of eyewitnesses as they can strengthen your case.
